Have you got the updates needed to play? A new patch came through recently. Maybe it's that :-).

If you have it already, I apologise :D.

I don't think TeamSpeak has been set up again since we moved servers (which is a shame).

It should be restored now, apparently somebody thought it was fun to hack into something that is free and open to everybody to use, to make it closed to everybody -_- ... just lame.

Weird; it keeps telling me it's not online... Oh, I have a newer version. Reckon that'd be causing the trouble? v2.0.32.6

[Edit] Nevermind, I had to bitchslap my proxy server firewall. Forgot it was wiped two months ago and didn't have TeamSpeak allowed through it again...

No-one's been online the past 2/3 days when I have. Does anyone use TS any more?

The answer better be yes, I went and bought a new headset and everything.

Not a lot of people. Some make forays there on occasion, but it's never been all that popular.

That's a shame. I had some good times chatting with other plays, during my MoH days. :-/

One thing that might be an option worth considering in an effort to get more people on the air with mics is using some of the server's budget to get a Ventrilo server. Quality is substantially better, log-in is less of a hassle, it has more administrative options, etc etc. Overall it is far superior to Teamspeak and its price is really quite reasonable. My friend rents a Ventrilo server which costs $50 per year - That's under $5 per month.

If funding is willing to be put forth, I'd gladly look into getting Antiworld a Ventrilo server.

As I have recently purchased a mic, I'd be all for getting a Teamspeak server set up. I'm less enthusiastic about the Vent server as the Teamspeak server didn't get much use - it doesn't have enough impact on the game to make people want to use it.

Caffeinated_Tweek, CloakedSchemer, -Tamayashi-, Mistress_Wish, Dylan_the_minotaur, Phosphorus and myself all use Ventrilo while bumming around on Antiworld. It's a bucket of laughs and fun.

Changing to vent wont make it any more popular, in my experience, adding new servers is actully more hassle on that.

What needs doing if anything is a direct link into logging onto it from the server somehow. But I don't know much about tht crap yet.

Ease of use goes miles when trying to get new people involved in things. Getting Ventrilo started client-side is way faster and far cleaner than Teamspeak as far as I can tell and that alone will make people more willing to use it. I'm not trying to be a salesman here but all who have tried it agree that Vent is easily worth the few extra bucks for its user-friendliness and sound quality. It's also easy to set up multiple channels, which would be a huge boon for a server with so many languages spoken on it. That alone won't get people logging on, I realize, but every step counts.

Regardless of the chat program used, one of the greatest reasons so few people are on the TS server is the absence of info actually available in the server itself. It would go a long way to change that shout to contain the log in information so that people don't have to go through the forums. It's not that big of a deal, no, but having it on the forums only leaves it open to the forum frequenters, which is like 10% of AW's playerbase.

Someone should post the Vent details. *hinthint*

Unless it's a private thing.

I can't really say this without coming across as a prick, but yes the one mentioned is actually a private server which was meant for another module. It's only got like a 15-user maximum capacity so I can't let everyone in, unfortunately. :(
