1 weapon out of stealth KD -> 2 weapon

Postby Antij » Fri Mar 05, 2010 4:39 pm

Coming out of stealth, KD'ing with one weapon, and then switching to dual wield.

getting told it's illegal so i stopped.

Read over the rules cannot see it there?

Only just started playing again since quite a while. And i'm sure it was fine then? or maybe i am mistaken. but apparently it's been illegal forever, just checking to see if it is or not.

if it is, then no worries, if it isn't, this pleases me :P

It is indeed against the rules because it's a bug and you are exploiting it.
When you swap from 1weapon+shield to two weapons, you are getting more Attacks per Round than you actually should have, and actually with better AB. Let's do this more clear..

This is what you get from a normal attack with one weapon:

+60/+55/+50/+45 (and the haste attack which is with max BAB, but to simplify let's not mention it)

this is what happens , during the same amount of time if you do what you are saying:

+60/+58/+53+/+48/+43 (main weapon)

+58/+53 (left handed weapon if improved two weapon fighting)

that makes 8 APR with haste, instead of the 7 you should have and with more AB
If you told me to cry for you....I could.
If you told me to die for you...I would...

This probably doesn't still hold but from back in the old days the ruling (coming from Mel) used to be that you can change your weapon once. But like I said, old times those.
