We have started to host Battlefield 2 as a game and wanted to get your feedback on what you think of the idea.

I think you will need to install the AIX mod client (http://www.aixtended.com/clientfiles.html).

It's currently hosting just one map, but we plan to configure it soon.


Who would want to try other games hosted by us with others who play on Antiworld?

What other multi-player online games to you play/played? Which did you like/dislike?

What games would you suggest that we host? And why?

We also would need a "team roster" as this is a very team-based game, and there are also features like global "ranks" that are tracked, which is part of what makes it fun. Whoever wants to signup to the Antiworld A|W clan, do post here. =)

Ooh! Soldat! Why? Because I play it every day on my PC and it's funny as heck! I think that's more than reason enough to host a server.

Hello I'm Skuomno and I'm happy to play with you in AIX Antiworld server.

Where will the server be hosted at? (Which country/state). I'd be interested in playing if my ping was low enough, however I am somewhat doubtful.

Oh and yes I'm still around hiding among the shadows.

I just had a short session on the server and I realy enjoyed it!

Though I feel that we've got to get more players. There are lots of maps for 64 players and if you are only 4-5 that's a bit ....

I get pings of 100-150 which is not the best, but still very playable. The server is in New Jersey on the east coast of US, hosted by nac.net.

A server that's empty tends to stay empty. Once me and a few friends login, we typically will get a few more random players joining us. I kinda like when there is few players, so the action isn't so fast and we can relax a bit.

We still need to work out some issues with team balance, which is hard when there is few players on. Map rotation needs to be defined as well; so far I'm rotating all the maps in the AIX2 official map pack only. We might narrow that down to the most popular maps that we like. Typically, BF2 servers only play one or two of the top maps. The huge map pack download doesn't help either. Maybe we will switch to the default BF2 maps; haven't tried that and not sure if that will even work.

Those are massive files to download I don't think my poor download limit would cope with that in one hit xD I'll try gradually downloading it all to see if I could play...

Heh always good to see you Jan and I didn't realise I was famous, maybe i'll start using Nor again for chars. Lately I've been going under Mystic.

Well another question I guess I should ask, is the server setup for low ping only? If so then I won't be able to play. I'm an aussie and pings from here to there are horrid however i'd be up for putting up with it just to play with you guys. I won't be downloading the files until the end of the month as i'd prefer not to go over my limit.

It's set mostly as default, so I'm not sure what the default is. I haven't tweaked anything except to install the AIX2 mod.

You don't really need it right now, I think we are not using any map from the map pack [we are using map fromt he default AIX client], and if we add them to the rotation you might still play when we it is running the default AIX maps.

I don't know for the settings. I guess it is not set for low ping. My ping alwayse seems to be very hight, but it must be because my computer cannot run the game much well (even though that does not make sense to me I still believe it might be a reason). You don't need the MapPack but you would need the AIX expansion pack.

What I was trying to say is that at least you will be able to kill me because my laptop does not run the game very well at all. I still have fun capping the flag but when it gets to shot at somebody I rarely succeed and when I do I am like "OMG OMG! I Killed Somebody!!!!"

Found disk. Patching now. Estimated time is over nine thousand.

I would be interested in trying this BF2 out, is the server up right now?

It's up all the time, but there is not always players online. Check out the status pages in the links I posted.

Vlad has played on the AW server more than I have played BF2, ever, since its release.

We should arrange some games, since if nobody is there nobody will go there

The server is currently being hosted in the east coast, Virginia if I am not wrong.

You can see the status of the bf2 server, in our antiworld homepage, just find it in the page! It says whether is up or not, and what IP.
